This year, Carlton “Bub” Carrington, a freshman guard from Pitt, was the very first ACC player chosen. The lucky team was Washington Wizards, who snagged him as a lottery pick at No. 14 overall through a possible trade with the Portland Trail Blazers. Carrington's selection made history as Pitt's fourth-ever lottery pick and kept up the ACC's trend of having a lottery pick for 16 years straight now, with an impressive total of 36 lottery selections during that time NBA Draft.
